Winter around here

in Wyoming life

snow3

I can’t take credit for these photos.  Mister went snowmobiling with some buddies. I’m not sure exactly where they rode, but based on the photo evidence, I’d say it was on top of the world.  He’s making friends here which is excellent.  It’s good for us to get away from each other at times.  Plus, snowmobiling is like his therapy.  He needs to get out and run around when he gets the chance.  I’ve met some great people as well, but it takes me a long time to get into that comfortable friend zone.  I’m socially awkward and a hermit and I have to be talked into doing new things and I miss my friends at home and that just makes for a whole mess of things to contend with, but I’m working on it.  Or schedule doesn’t really allow for lonely moments right now, thankfully.

These photos came from his phone with the most minimal editing to clean up dirty spots on the lens and to resize.  So either his phone is crazy or that’s literally the bluest sky I’ve ever seen in my life. Either way, gorgeous.

Have any of you gone snowmobiling before? If you haven’t, I’d imagine these scenes and that machine look totally crazy. We do this stuff all day every day, so I sometimes forget that its totally foreign to others.

I went snowmobiling ONCE (http://3upadventures.com/adventures-in-snowmobiling/) and proceeded to launch my snowmobile off the road. I’d love to try again somewhere like Wyoming where everything isn’t quite so steep/tight as North Idaho. I want to run around in a big flat area for awhile to bet better before trying that again!

No worries. I’ve ridden for years and my first ride in WY, I rolled my mom’s brand new sled. I’m also mildly terrified of getting off trail too much because Alan tells stories of getting buried up to his CHEST. eep! Headed over to read about your adventure now.

Beautiful, just beautiful. I love how amazingly bright and clear the sky and sun are when you are at Wyoming elevations. I miss those big blue skies that go from one horizon to the other, chock full of puffy white cartoon clouds. Sigh.
