In previous ES games, you could only choose one tree and you would be stuck with that tree until you had to uninstall and reinstall the game. Well in The Elder Scrolls Online, you can have many different skyrim magic trees to choose from and each one will provide a different source of magical power. Before you get started picking which tree to take you need to make sure you know what type of magical powers each one provides. Once you know that you can then decide which one fits your character the best and helps you level faster or weaker.
Let’s start with the first tree, the Sky tree. When you recruit him he starts with 80 skill in Heavy Armor, 25 in Light Armor, but the skyrim magic tree does not list any special stats. He only has 5 total points in all of the skyrim magic trees, but since the skyrim magic guide states he only has 5 points in each tree he probably specializes in Entropy, Psionics or Elementars. Which would make sense as he needs these three skills to do anything in skyrim, he might as well pick the one tree that is more powerful. He has two staffs, a wand and a dagger so if you think you can handle melee you might as well use the Sky tree.
The second tree, the Water tree can be found by doing a quest for the Hortus Tree in the Morthale Forest. Once you start talking to the locals they will give you some very good advice on choosing your tree, but they also tell you that all of the trees in skyrim share some sort of weakness that should be taken into account when choosing a tree. This includes the Sky and Water magic trees, but also includes the Dark Tree which can do some really dark spells that can really drain your magick.
The other two trees are actually much weaker than the Sky and Water magic trees, but they still have their benefits. The Mountain Tree is good for damage with its powerful blow and Stone spell, but you will really want to use the Fire Tree if you want to do massive damage with fire based spells. The other tree that is weak is the Ebony tree but it will still help out with the damage that you are doing and it helps out with poisons. You will not want to use the Night Elf tree because it only does minor damage, but it will help out with your stealth capabilities so you can sneak up on people easier.
The three trees should all be strong enough to survive until the end of time, and the Sky tree will always be better than the Water or Mountain trees unless you can get the Ebony to level up faster, but then that is highly unlikely. So what tree to use? Well the obvious choice would be the Water Tree. With the bonus of you can shape water with a Water staff, this is a powerful tree.
The Mountain Tree is similar to the Water tree in that it can shape water with a staff. This makes it more powerful than the Water tree but also gives it the tendency to be more prone to magical attacks. This tree can however, be killed by enemies. The final tree is quite weak compared to the other trees, but can still hurt enemies quite a bit with a single hit. This tree is probably for the casual skyrim player or the average player who has not played much skyrim yet.
You will find that these trees are quite useful in skyrim. If you like to get off easy, then using these trees will save you quite a bit of time. They are also very powerful when it comes to dispelling magic. There are other types of trees that are considered weaker that these, such as the Ebony tree. They are used mainly for their damage output, rather than their wisdom or recovery abilities.
There are several skyrim magic trees that you can choose from. Some of them are better for specific purposes while others are general purpose trees. If you are new to skyrim, or even if you are a seasoned player, the best thing you can do is play around and see which tree works for you. As you get more involved with skyrim’s world, and as you start to feel more adventurous, you can decide what tree you want to use.
